He was the elder son of Henry James Joyce, born 1866 and his wife Kate born 1864
His siblings were Phyllis Minnie (born 1893), Constance May (born 1895), Henry Victor (born 1899, died 1980) and Theodore William (born 1902)
His grandparents were William Henry Joyce (born 1833) and Louisa (born 1834). His father’s siblings were Annie Elizabeth (born 1863), Louisa Parkinson (born 1864), Kate Mary (born 1868) and Emily Hurst (born 1870)
In the 1901 census it shows that his family had a servant Lizzie Satchwell. All references mention Leicester or nearby, except that the family lived in Mablethorpe in the 1911 census (or may have been on holiday?)
